Traditional Ayurvedic Uses : heart disease, early congestive heart failure, angina, pericarditis, palpitations, high blood pressure, skin condition, obesity, cirrhosis, edema.

Not recommened even in India as a replacement for the modern medicines, but rather as a useful adjunct to treatment. Arjuna is a reputed heart tonic known for promoting longevity. Combines well with guggulu (Commiphora mukul), guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia), hawthorn berry, and punarnava (Boerhaavia difusa).
